Accessing Our Services

Employee Assistance Program ( EAP)

Many employers recognise the significant benefits in looking after the psychological wellbeing of their staff and have established an EAP which covers their employees and their immediate family members at no cost to the employee. This agreement also stipulates the number of sessions each client is entitled to each year.

AusPsych is the preferred EAP provider for many large and small organisations across the Hunter and Central Coast Regions from a variety of industries including not-for-profit organisations.

If your employer does have an EAP agreement with us, there are a number of ways to access the EAP. Your employer, supervisor or EAP Co Ordinator may recommend EAP counselling for you, however all counselling is voluntary and strictly confidential. Your personal information is not disclosed to your employer. You can arrange an EAP appointment through your employer or by contacting AusPsych directly.

Private Client

You are also able to access our services as a private client and do not need a referral to see us. Just contact us and make an appointment. You may also be able to receive a rebate if you have private health insurance depending on your level of cover.

Medicare – Better Access to Mental Health

AusPsych do not provide any bulk billing services.

Medicare rebates are available to clients receiving psychological services who have been referred with a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP or Psychiatrist. Under this scheme, you are eligible for up to 10 individual rebated sessions per calendar year.

Insurance – Workers Compensation and Consumer Third Party ( CTP )

People who are involved in workplace incidents or motor vehicle accidents where there is a psychological component to their injury are eligible to receive counselling support, after receiving a referral from their Nominated Treating Doctor. The number of sessions are determined on a case-by-case basis.
